This year, Vilnius celebrates its title as European Green Capital 2025 with the exhibition Buzzing City. Opening on August 20 at the Center for Wooden Architecture, the exhibition invites visitors to see Vilnius as a green, living organism – constantly growing, adapting, and changing.
Since 2010, sixteen European cities have earned the Green Capital title, awarded to places that lead in environmental initiatives and inspire others to follow. In 2026, the honor will pass from Vilnius to the Portuguese city of Guimarães.
At Buzzing City, you’ll discover how Vilnius and other European Green Capitals are rethinking urban life. The exhibition showcases innovative projects and initiatives that make cities more sustainable, vibrant, and community-focused.
Organized by the Wooden Architecture Centre of the Vilnius City Museum.
Partner and sponsor: Vilnius City Municipality project Vilnius – European Green Capital 2025.
